Our House Show

17th May

Morning of the show. Call wasn't until 14:00 but some of us came in early to get stuff done. There wasn't as much to do because me, Naomi and Raven stayed after college the Tuesday and tidied backstage and organised what's needed in act 1 and put everything for act 2 in the dance studio. Me and charlotte made the gondola boat Maddy uses in the begging of act 2. We got cardboard, and measured out the length we needed the pieces to be. After cutting it out we painted it and left it to try so when Kim came in at 13:30 she could assemble it.

16:30 show
First show. This was for college staff and friends only. It wasn't a big crowd so it didn't react as much as we needed it to. Everyone knew what they were doing. We had a sheet stuck to the wall of prop order and who brings it on and off and when so it was more organised back stage. I think I done really well, the only thing I was told after the show was to be a bit louder and say one of my lines to the audience. The main thing that went wrong was Charlotte skipped one of my scenes with her but the audience didn't notice anything go wrong so we carried on. As this was my first show I was quite nervous at first but after doing this show I felt so much more confident for the 19:30 show.

19:30 show
Second show. This was open to anyone so my family came to watch. It was quite full so it was a little nerve racking but I tried to stay calm and be confident. After the first show everyone was now confident in what they were doing and the energy was high. As there was an audience, there was more of a reaction to the scenes and the jokes. This made everyone feel better as it made them feel more comfortable to perform as they were getting a reaction. The band also played better in this show because we had such high energy and so did they. After this show Kim didn't give me any personal notes but I had to listen to what she said for Mr Pressman as I'm playing him tomorrow. She said Pressman needs to be flirty with Julie at the end of my girl but show despair during the start of the song.
