Our House Rehearsal

Scenes in first showAct 2

The first scene I'm in for act 2 is Wings of a Dove. In this scene I'm in a party and not playing a character. We had to be happy and look like we're having fun. This dance was a lot of fun to do but it took everyone a while to learn the song. The dance went really well but it was never fully perfected no matter how much we rehearsed it. However, the timing was really good and so was the characterisation of the dancers. They were energetic and happy.

My next scene I was a lawyer. I picked up this role because someone got ill and no one else could do it. This is a reprise of Embarrassment. Me, Amber and Bryleah play middle level lawyers. We discussed that we wanted to add our own character and flare to them so we decided to be quite girly, stuck up and a little bit flirty. We turn our back on Joe then get closer to him when we're telling him to go to the legal aid place.

My last proper scene as Reecey, is when Joe goes looking for Danny to break in to his house. In this scene I start off in the shadows because I'm meant to be quite mysterious and hidden. I then walk down to talk to Joe. We have a conversation about Joe asking me to break in to his house to get his mum to sell but I warn him how I've done this before but he still insists I do it. I walk past him and off centre stage left.

The next scene I'm in is the market scene. I walk on pushing a trolley for Joe to jump on as he starts singing the song. I push him across the stage to centre stage right. I take on Joes suit jacket and hung it on  a rack centre stage for when Joe changes behind the umbrellas. I then walk to my table with Luke and Bryleah. Each table has a different line to sing when we're selling. The first group go forward singing about incense; the second signs about offensive t-shirts. The next group sings about bath soaps. The last group is my group and we walk forward signing about cannabis. We then go back to our table and each group has a different way to travel to our positions. My trio went in cannon; Bryleah went first doing a walkover, then I done a cartwheel and look done a leap. We then done a short phrase Kat choreographed, while singing the chorus. After that we wander to different stalls to get umbrellas. We then get into three lines and do a short section with umbrellas that we took and adapted from the original production. The last part of the song we cover Joe with umbrellas while he changes in the suit jacket to be bad Joe. Once he's change we disperse and I take the good joe clothing off stage and everyone slowly brings off all the market stalls. We then wander round on stage singing the chorus. When there's a key change we've got to react to the house fire. I then go off stage.

After the funeral it goes into a court scene. I walk on and stand in the spotlight with Joe while the judge sentences us. Joe then starts to sing and we walk off backwards slowly and off stage. I then have to change into party clothes for the final wedding scene. I come back on to join people who are already on stage for the wedding party. We mingle in the background until Sarah asks for a photograph. Me and Fran slide into the from and sit in front of Joe and Sarah on the floor while theyre standing. We all pull three different poses and the ligt flashes every time we change position. After Joes scene with Dad we all get up and start singing the Our House finale number. We dance around together until it gets to the counter melody of people singing our house and house of fun. We then get into two circles around Joe and Sarah and each circle runs in the opposite direction. This is meant to represent going back in time to Joes 16th birthday because Joe and Sarah change into their school uniform from the first scene. Everyone runs off stage and Joe and Sarah say their last lines and we finish the song from off stage. Everyone then comes back for bows.
